SPIRITUALITY 02

MATURITY

As we mature spiritually there is less need to have our self-respect bolstered by praise and special attention. As our thought processes become more compassionate and less self-obsessed, we feel increasingly satisfied with our lives and ourselves. We relate to people more easily and feel no need to draw attention to our successes or complain about our problems. Selfless service means that we help others without any desire for a reward. We serve because we have an innate desire in the core of our heart to help others.”

Just as the highest tower needs a deep foundation, so too our higher thinking is based on going deep within.

Power On

Each day we all need to recharge our spiritual battery, otherwise the light of our consciousness becomes dim, thoughts become fuzzy, and decisions are impregnated with doubt. Power is available inside and outside. Inside us we have a spiritual center, at the core of our consciousness, pure radiant spiritual light. This is what we are. However it is now blocked by our attachments, the record of all our life experiences and many learned beliefs and perceptions. Outside us we have the sun of spirit, the source, invisible to our physical eyes but only one second away when we are able to be quiet and focus our mind. Meditation connects us to both sources of power – that’s why meditation is the way to access the real vitamins and the minerals that spirit craves. The vitamin of pure love and the minerals of truth and wisdom. Take time to empower yourself today. Sit quietly and connect your mind to each source and allow yourself to recharge and renew.

Heal Yourself

The deepest wounds we all carry are locked in our subconscious (out of our awareness). Deep memories and subtle impressions, from unfinished experi- ence, rooted in the past. The pain from those wounds comes to revisit, to block and paralyze us in the moment called now. We all know it comes without warn- ing – “Why am I feeling this way, I didn’t mean to do that, I don’t know what made me say that.” Healing does not mean finding and treating every single inner scar, which send it message to haunt us. It means going even deeper, past those wounds, beyond those distant memories and recording of unfinished business, to the core of our self, to the heart of our spirit, where we find the light and warmth of our own core qualities of love and peace. They are eter- nally present within us they are what we need to heal all our inner wounds. That’s why this kind of deep healing is called spirituality and not therapy.

Remind Yourself

If you know a little of yourself, you will have realized that you are more than meets your eyes in the mirror in the morning. What you see is not what you are. You see the form not the content, the body not the soul, and the matter not the mind. In quiet and profound moments, we innately know that is true. But we forget. The world tells us and wants us to believe that we are what we see – and we take the easy way out. We believe. That’s why the awakening of spirit and the flowering of our spirituality (nothing to do with religion) means we have to keep reminding ourselves, a hundred times a day, I am a soul – not a body, I am an eternal spirit – not a perishable piece of meat. I am quality, not quantity. I am. Otherwise, freedom is not possible. And if we are not free, in the deepest space inside our own being, we cannot be truly happy.

Spiritual Language

To create the future we desire we need a spiritual language; we must speak from the heart and in the language of the soul – a language of trust, faith and higher values, of inner growth, love and listening.

Purity

A powerful, yet often misunderstood, aim of spiritual study is purity. Purity of the SOUL means to return to its original divine qualities. The SOUL has be- come so polluted with less than divine qualities; it can hardly enjoy being alive. Purifying the SOUL puts the higher self back in charge – useless and negative thoughts are removed and annoying habits finish. A pure SOUL cannot be touched by sorrow; indeed the power of purity is such, it serves to remove the sorrow of the whole world. Purity restores happiness – even bliss. All you need to do, in order to re-establish your purity, is want it. But you need to want it intensely, to the exclusion of everything else. The one thought, “I must become completely pure”. Sparks a fire of love between you and God. This fire melts away all the pollution, and your purity becomes such a power that it frees you from all battles forever.

Divine Power

“What is that urge within man to persist in his quest for the Ideal? What is it that enables him to pursue his goal despite all obstacles, sacrifices and suffer- ing? There is within each of us a divine impulse to reach beyond our seeming limitations to that, which is ideal and eternal.”
