WHAT IS THE SOUL? (Explanation in the story form)

Well worth reading. Enjoy and understand it.

The King & His Four Wives:

Read This Carefully, very powerful thoughts.

Once upon a time there was a rich King who had four wives.

He loved the 4th wife the most and adorned her with rich robes and treated her to the finest of delicacies. He gave her nothing but the best.

He also loved the 3rd wife very much and was always showing her off to neighboring kingdoms. However, he feared that one day she would leave him for another.

He also loved his 2nd wife. She was his confidant and was always kind, considerate and patient with him. Whenever the King faced a problem, he could confide in her, and she would help him get through the difficult times.

The King’s 1st wife was a very loyal partner and had made great contributions in maintaining his wealth and kingdom. However, he did not love the first wife. Although she loved him deeply, he hardly took notice of her!

One day, the King fell ill and he knew his time was short. He thought of his luxurious life and wondered, “I now have four wives with me, but when I die, I’ll be all alone”.

Thus, he asked the 4th wife, “I have loved you the most, endowed you with the finest clothing and showered great care over you. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“No way!” replied the 4th wife, and she walked away without another word. Her answer cut like a sharp knife right into his heart.

The sad King then asked the 3rd wife, “I have loved you all my life. Now that I’m dying, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“No!” replied the 3rd wife. “Life is too good! When you die, I’m going to remarry!” His heart sank and turned cold.

He then asked the 2nd wife, “I have always turned to you for help and you’ve always been there for me. When I die, will you follow me and keep me company?”

“I’m sorry, I can’t help you out this time!” replied the 2nd wife. “At the very most, I can only send you to your grave.” Her answer came like a bolt of lightning, and the King was Devastated.

Then a voice called out: “I’ll leave with you and follow you no matter where you go.” The King looked up, and there was his first wife. She was so skinny as she suffered from malnutrition and neglect.

Greatly grieved, the King said, “I should have taken much better care of you when I had the chance!”

In truth, we all have 4 wives in our lives:

Our 4th wife is our body. No matter how much time and effort we lavish in making it look good, it will leave us when we die.

Our 3rd wife is our possessions, status and wealth. When we die, it will all go to others.

Our 2nd wife is our family and friends. No matter how much they have been there for us, the furthest they can stay by us is up to the grave.

And our 1st wife is our SOUL. Often neglected in pursuit of wealth, power and pleasures of the world. However, our SOUL is the only thing that will follow us wherever we go. Cultivate, strengthen and cherish it now, for it is the only part of us that will follow us to the throne of God and continue with us throughout Eternity.

You need power to remain free from the influence of others. Detachment is this power. If you cannot remain detached from influences, you will not be able to keep your thoughts under control. From there it will be a down-ward spiral until all trace of inner well-being is lost.

The first step in detachment is to understand who you are as a spiritual entity. This allows you to detach yourself from your physical identity, and its world of limited thoughts and feelings and attach instead to your spiritual personality, the being of inner peace and power. A normal day will be filled with challenges to this detachment. On the one side will be your spiritual awareness, but on the other side will be the attraction towards human beings and material world.

Detachment is not a question of becoming separate from the later, but of simply remaining conscience of yourself as a spiritual being whilst being in the world and playing your part. Detachment simply means to keep yourself centered in your spirituality.

How to Develop Detachment?

“We need to reach a state in which, while we are living in this world, we are detached from it. We need to realize that all the possessions of this world are transitory. They are an illusion.”

“If we can get to a state where we can control our desires, then we will find that our life will move in harmony with its environment, our mind will be at peace, and we will be able to make tremendous strides towards the ultimate aim of our life, which is to know our real self and to be one with God.”

Being content does not mean inaction. We must still do our work in the world. We must still try to earn an honest livelihood. We must still do our best in whatever field we are placed. We must still do our best to provide for our families. The difference is that we do so with a spirit of detachment. We do our work but are not attached to the results.”

“Let us not think that this is the real world. Let us recognize that this is the world of Maya, the world of illusion. But even though we are in this world of illusion, this is a grand opportunity that God has given for us to recognize ourselves. Let us know that each one of us has been created by the hand of God, has been created by God. That realization we will only have as we go within and experience the divine Light and Sound of God.”

The steps of my journey towards higher consciousness are what I actually do and not just think or speak.

If a man speaks or acts with an evil thought, sorrow will follow him as the cart goes after the ox.

What I create is what is going to happen, if I choose to exchange love and peace in my interaction with others, I create relationship based on those qualities.

The idea of God as the pusher does not fit in with a God of love, mercy and compassion.

I am the architect of my own destiny. Fate or destiny is just the effect of my own acts.

Whatever I sow, I reap in all three ways; Thoughts, Words and Actions.

I am the master of my fate: I am the captain of my soul.

The five types of thoughts are created in our minds: –

1. Waste Thoughts – Those that have nothing to do with reality. This includes doubts, excuses, the creation and continuance of unrealistic fantasies (building castles in the air), worry about trivialities, confusion, misunderstandings and paranoia.

2. Negative Thoughts – Those that have origin in the vices such as desire, anger, greed, attachments, and ego.

3. Necessary Thoughts – Those connected with the activities of one’s family, professional, social or other responsibilities. This includes looking after one’s own health and hygiene.

4. Ordinary Thoughts – Those associated with mundane matters, news and views about situations.

5. Elevated Thoughts – Those related to meditative introspection, the contemplation of aspects of spiritual knowledge or self-development and spiritual service for others – real creative thinking.

BODY-CONSCIOUSNESS (Trump) – The origin of negativity:

SOUL-CONSCIOUSNESS (Obama) – The origin of positivity:

In Body Consciousness (Trump):-

In the state of spiritual insecurity the following five main negative forces or vices or emotions are born:

1. Desire or Lust – The urge towards sense satisfaction as a means of fulfillment

2. Anger – the feeling of animosity when any of other vices are threatened.

3. Greed – The attempt to find fulfillment through the acquisition of

material goods, position or status, or through the physical senses.

4. Attachment – the attempt to find security through developing relationships of ownership or possessiveness with people and objects.

5. Ego or Vanity – The cultivation of a self-image that is false, temporary or unreal.

We all human beings have these five vices, but these vary in the form of degree or extent. This degree varies from person to person in the range of 25% to 90%. No one is perfect. Trump has these vices more than 90%.

In Soul Consciousness, Soul is one’s Consciousness (Obama):-

How one sees others is definitely based on the consciousness with which one views him/her. So many possibilities of perception arise when one has to deal with others. Many times one does not see others, as they really are, but merely as part of their national, cultural or social background. Age, sex, profession, social status and degree of beauty add to the compartments that become subtle or obvious barriers in our relationship with them. They camouflage our own self-identity and tint the glasses through which we observe and therefore react to others.

Following is the example of attitudes of two different bosses towards his/her employees:

AwARENESSI am the boss here; I know more than everyone here. After all, that is why I am the boss.I am a spiritual being; I have to play out a role of responsibility. Each of my employees has his/her own specific role.
THOUGHTThey should listen to me. After all I am the one who pays their salaries.Let me listen to their suggestions. Perhaps we can improve something.
DECISIONI will show them who is the boss here.Let me understand each of their specialties.
ACTIONThe boss shouts and argues with them.A two-way dialogue ensues.
RESULTIll-feeling between boss and employees.Respect and a climate of trust are maintained.

Body Consciousness –Desire, Anger, Greed, Attachment, Ego, = Sorrow

Soul Consciousness – Peace, Knowledge, Love, Purity, Bliss, = Happiness

The differences between human beings and between all things in the whole creation are not in kind but only in degree. There is same SOUL in the saint and the sinner, in the happy and the miserable, in the beautiful and the ugly, in humans and animals. The differences are caused by the degree of expression. In some it is expressed more and in others less, but those differences have no effect on the SOUL. If one person’s dress shows more of his/her body than others, it does not make difference in their bodies, the difference is in their dress.

Happiness is not in this heaven or in that heaven; it is in the SOUL. The highest heaven is in our SOUL, the greatest temple of worship is the human  Soul, greater than all heavens; for in no heaven, anywhere can we understand Reality as distinctly and clearly as in this life, in our own SOUL. Birth and Death, Life and Decay, Degeneration and Regeneration are all manifestations of Oneness. It is the universal idea working through all religions.

The gigantic intellect lies coiled up in the protoplasmic cell; each one of us comes out of a protoplasmic cell and all the powers we posses are coiled up there. The energy is in the cell potentially no doubt, but still there. So the infinite power is in the SOUL of man. Its manifestation is only a question of being Conscious of it and is conscious of its powers. That power is the power of SELF-Realization and that is ABSOLUTE SOUL.

SOUL and its Position, Form and Attributes: –

Position: – The sentient functions are controlled and monitored through the nervous and hormonal systems from a particular point in the area of the brain housing the Thalamus, Hypothalamus, Pituitary and Pineal glands. This region is known as the seat of the SOUL or THIRD EYE. The connection between the physical and non-physical is by the medium of thought energy. When viewed from front, this region appears to be between and slightly above the line of the eyebrows. – As the brain is the control center for all of the various processes of the body – metabolism, the nervous endocrine, immunology and lymphatic systems – it makes sense that the inner person (SOUL) be located somewhere in the brain.

Form: – All of the characters present in the SOUL are subtle or non-dimensional in nature – Thoughts, Feelings, Emotions, Decision making power, personality traits and so on. If they are all without size, then it is reasonable to conclude that the conscious energy from which they emerge is also size less and therefore eternal. Just as the sun is in one place and yet its light radiates throughout the solar system, the SOUL is in one place and its energy permeates the whole body. Something, which has no physical dimension, is called point. The SOUL therefore is an infinitesimal point of conscientious light.

Attributes: – Qualities of SOUL are Love, Patience, Tolerance, Understanding, Empathy, and so on. These are all in a latent state and do not translate very easily in to action. They need to be empowered. One of the most immediate benefits of the practice of Meditation is to improve the functioning of this inner ruler. My innate qualities are just waiting for a chance to manifest them. Like a light bulb without a current, they need to be connected to a source of power. This is what exactly meditation brings.

The innate qualities of Soul are the following:-

Patience – Peace, Purity, Love, and Power

Courage – Power and Truth

Discernment – Truth, Peace, Happiness and Balance

The inner faculties of SOUL: – (State of Consciousness)

Mind – Thoughts, Desires, Feelings or attachments, Anger, Greed, Vanity, sensation, emotions, experience, etc.

Intellect – Willpower, it discerns or discriminates and judges (decision making), reasoning power, the ability to remember, Associate and identify, ability to understand, recognize and know, etc.

Sub-consciousness or Un-consciousness – Personality traits, Habits, Tendencies, Memories, Values, Beliefs, Learning, Talents, Instincts, etc.
